"Digital Pandora: Imaging Hope" Installation

This body of work reflects an intuitive, process based approached to working with symbolic images from my unconscious using collage and a wide variety of drawing materials. My meditative approach to the work includes the conscious intention of creating images of healing, which include personal reflections upon the circle of life: birth / death / rebirth.

My rationale for use of printed mass media images is the transformation and inclusion of secular imagery within meditative images.  These images are inspired by nature-based, multicultural indigenous spiritual beliefs of Old Europe and the New World. Many threads of religion have enriched my spiritual life since childhood contributing to my pan-theistic faith informed by various world religions and beliefs. These multi-cultural threads are connected by the core of all faiths – the endless mystery some refer to as God, an unprovable, irrational entity known mainly through transcendent experience.
